The Swiss Alps hut to hut

Five days above the clouds, from one mountain hut to the next.

Waking above a sea of clouds is the reason to sleep in mountain huts. The walking in between is a bonus.

Getting there

Trains reach the trailheads; post buses cover the last few kilometres.

Where to stay

Alpine club huts, booked a month ahead in summer.

What I would do differently

I would bring a silk sleeping bag liner. Huts provide blankets, not sheets.
