Ubud in five slow days

Rice terraces, morning markets and the temples outside town.

Ubud is busy in the centre and calm a ten-minute walk away. Base yourself just outside and walk in for dinner.

Getting there

A driver from the airport takes about an hour and a half in light traffic.

Where to stay

A guesthouse among the rice fields north of town.

What I would do differently

I would rent a scooter only with experience. The roads are narrow and steep.

Prices in this guide are what I paid. They move every season, so use them as a rough guide.
