A walking safari in Tanzania

Leaving the car behind, with a ranger and a lot of respect for elephants.

On foot, a safari becomes about tracks, sounds and small things you never notice from a car.

Getting there

Walking safaris run in a few parks, always with an armed ranger and a guide.

Where to stay

A small fly camp, set up for one or two nights in the bush.

What I would do differently

I would wear neutral colours. Bright clothes are easy to spot, even for animals.

Prices in this guide are what I paid. They move every season, so use them as a rough guide.
