The Cape Peninsula by car

Beaches, penguins and the road along the Twelve Apostles.

The drive from Cape Town to Cape Point is one long viewpoint. Take a full day and stop often.

Getting there

Rent a car in Cape Town and leave early to beat the traffic on Chapman's Peak.

Where to stay

Kalk Bay or Simon's Town for a quieter night by the sea.

What I would do differently

I would swim at Boulders Beach early, before the penguins get company.
