A slow week in Cape Town

Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsula and a week of slow road trips.

Cape Town is a city with a mountain in the middle and an ocean on both sides. A week is enough to see it, but not to want to leave.

Getting there

Direct flights arrive from most European hubs. Rent a car for the Peninsula and the winelands.

Where to stay

Stay in Gardens or Tamboerskloof, close to the mountain trails and the city centre.

What I would do differently

I would hike Table Mountain on the first clear day. The cloud can sit on top for days.

I left a desk job in 2019 to travel slowly. This blog is everything I wish I had known before each trip: honest itineraries, real budgets and the places worth the detour.
