Amsterdam by canal

Boats, bikes and the quieter neighbourhoods of the Jordaan.

Amsterdam is built around water, so it makes sense to see it from a boat, then from a bike.

Getting there

Trains from Schiphol reach Centraal Station in fifteen minutes.

Where to stay

The Jordaan or De Pijp, away from the busiest streets.

What I would do differently

I would rent a small electric boat for an hour. No licence needed.

Prices in this guide are what I paid. They move every season, so use them as a rough guide.
