London on a budget

Free museums, cheap eats and the best views without a ticket.

London has a reputation for being expensive, and it is. But its best museums are free, and so are its parks and many of its views.

Getting there

Trains connect all the airports to the centre; the cheapest are often the slowest.

Where to stay

A small hotel in zone two, close to a tube line.

What I would do differently

I would use a contactless card for every ride. Daily caps keep costs down.

Prices in this guide are what I paid. They move every season, so use them as a rough guide.
